In 1995, three talented musicians exploded from the Chapell Hill, NC music scene to produce one of that year's most delightful debuts. A trio of piano, drum and bass, they thumbed their noses at traditional "rock" line-ups, instead creating infectious pop with only piano, bass and drums. From the light and happy teen-angst pop of "Underground" and "Uncle Walter" to the melancholic charms of "Alice Childress" and "Boxing", this first album would surely set the standard for pop trios to come. This is the trio who would be known as Ben Folds Five.
