Cirkus - The Young Person's Guide To King Crimson - Live is the official King Crimson 30th Anniversary release from one of the most enduring and influential rock bands of all time.

For this 2CD set Robert Fripp has personally selected what he considers to be King Crimson's best live performances, covering all the band's line-ups from 1972 to the present. Cirkus comprises 25 tracks, 15 of which have never been released. All the tracks have been completely remastered by Robert Fripp exclusively for this collection.

In addition, this set features an enchanced CD (accessible using either Macintosh or Windows PC), which includes an illustrated, detailed personal overview of King Crimson's 30 year history by Robert Fripp, Fripp's own comments on live recordings, a fully searchable catalog listing with selected audio and visual clips as well as a link to the Discipline Global Music web site.

While it would be easy to just look upon this collection as an "archival trawl" through the past - nothing is ever quite as it first appears with King Crimson. Rather than arrange the material in the usually expected chronological manner, the first disc of this set is arranged and tracklisted to provide a preview of what the next live incarnation of King Crimson will sound like - featuring the current double trio band, the 80's quartet and tracks from the ProjeKct I and II offshoot ensembles. The result is not so much a resting on old laurels but rather a definitive essence of King Crimson outside of the studio in the past, present and future...now 30 years and counting....
